More about Sam...

Sam Lewis has collaborated with everyone from Leon Russell to The Wood Brothers.Chris Stapleton dubbed him “a modern Townes Van Zandt”. He’s often labeled with some form of the word ‘soulful’ (some have even compared his voice to molasses), Lewis’ style meets at a juncture of many different genres however he’s discovered what most musicians spend lifetimes working for; the place where feel-good music meets vital social commentary.

After spending a nomadic youth throughout the Southeast (USA), he began calling Nashville home in 2009. Since then he’s been joined on his journey by some of music’s most righteous and luminary figures. He has pressed the first few chapters in his career’s studio anthology with the release of his self-titled debut (2012), sophomore release Waiting On You (2015), third studio release Loversity (2018) and live-acoustic album Solo (2020). All have received critical acclaim and each session as grown with the legendary family for which he has adopted to curate and share his musical inner- vision with his listeners.

Waiting On You was co-produced by roots music cornerstone, Oliver Wood (The Wood Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band). Adjoined by their savant fluency in the soul music lexicon, Lewis and Wood called upon the instrumental palettes of masters including Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson, Neil Young), Darrell Scott (Robert Plant, Guy Clark), Will Kimbrough (Jimmy Buffett, Rodney Crowell), Gabe Dixon (Paul McCartney) and the McCrary Sisters (The Fairfield Four), all placing their stamp on this enduring expression of un-compromised songwriting.

Billboard announced the highly anticipated third studio release Loversity and premiered the video for the first single, “One and The Same”. The album landed Lewis a spot on Rolling Stone’s “10 New Artists to Watch” list, with writer Marissa Moss describing the album as, “… seventies psychedelic soul, with a storyteller’s eye, a swampy Southern groove and an emotional, political punch.” Once again Lewis has given us an album filled with relentless grooves courtesy of rhythm section JT Cure and Derek Mixon (Chris Stapleton) and transfixing guitars of both Kenny Vaughan (Marty Stuart, Lucinda Williams) and Dan Cohen (Bruce Hornsby) - all who continue to bless each of Lewis’ studio campaigns.

A decade worth of touring his studio efforts (mostly solo) he has captivated audiences all around the world with his songs and stories that are glued together with a unique stage banter he’s developed from performing in numerous music halls, clubs, theaters, festivals, music cruises and the occasional living room. SOLO (2020) is a solo-acoustic album featuring new songs as well as reimagining previously released songs. Recorded at Southern Ground Studios in Nashville in front of a live audience SOLO is an intimate snapshot that captures Lewis in his element and is certain to be a fan favorite for years to come.

While each album has a distinct sound, they all circle back to one universal theme and certainly something you will hear Lewis preach to his audience, “we are all trying to get somewhere — all running from something or toward something; we’re all in it together, though.”

More about Cam...

Cam Pierce was born and bred in the West...way West. Born in a tiny logging town in Oregon and growing up in the deep woods of the Southern part of the state. He says that all his time in the woods watching, listening, and being still is a key force in his spontaneous approach to songwriting. Cam's stories reach out and activate the imagination. Transporting the listener to another time, place and frame of mind. His is a unique take on the various styles of Roots Music. Cam Pierce's music isn't just a "retro throwback sound", it is something stylistically new, yet evidently from the old.

Holidays at the Harvester with the Tiger Beats

More about The Tiger Beats...

The Tiger Beats are a group of Nashville artists with a common passion and respect of the “The Great Era” of Blues and early R&B. Founded by singer and guitarist Patrick Sweany in 2010, but fully realized in 2018 by the arrival of drummer Jason Smay, (J.D. McPherson, Los Straitjackets, Jimmie Vaughan) bassist Ted Pecchio, (Col. Bruce Hampton, Doyle Bramhall, Susan Tedeschi, Jimmy Hall) and the dynamite, youngblood guitarist and singer McKinley James. This lineup, routinely joined by highly in demand organist Ray Jacildo refined their sound at their popular Blue Monday residencies in Nashville, into a unique force in the Music City landscape. Their adherence to the dynamic energy, groove, and sound of classic Blues and R&B, while leaving any post-rock pretense or histrionics behind, makes them a singular and powerful live music experience.

The band showcases the elemental Delta to Chicago sounds of Muddy Waters, Elmore James, and Howlin’ Wolf, the stinging West Side guitar attack of Magic Sam and Otis Rush, swinging R&B of Bobby Blue Bland and Little Junior Parker, with a little Fats Domino and Swamp Pop for good measure. The Tiger Beats are a powerhouse of old school, soul pleasing sounds, for the here and now.

More about Anthony...

Anthony is a multi-instrumentalist: drummer for 20 years, saxophonist for 17 years, guitarist for 12 years, and singer since childhood. The former leading member of The Smoky Nights and originally from Wisconsin, we're excited to welcome Anthony back to the Flatwoods Stage!

The lyrics often touch on themes such as love, heartbreak, patriotism, and the beauty of nature, painting vivid pictures in the listener’s mind and evoking powerful emotions. Whether it’s a lively, upbeat song that makes you want to dance or a heartfelt ballad that brings tears to your eyes, the genre has a unique ability to connect with people on a deep, emotional level.

More about LadyCouch...

"Everybody's dancing, y'all — it's about that time," Allen Thompson sings during the first minute of LadyCouch's Future Looks Fine, setting the tone for a debut album rooted in groove, soul, and the family-like bond of 12 musicians.

A southern-rock jam band fronted by Thompson and co-founder Keshia Bailey, LadyCouch brings together a lineup of songwriters, horn players, harmony singers, and first-rate instrumentalists. The result is a larger-than-life sound inspired by the revue bands of the 1970s, bringing a contemporary approach to the timeless influence of Delaney & Bonnie, Little Feat, and Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs & Englishmen. Funky and fiercely loyal, LadyCouch's members are a community unto themselves, writing optimistic songs about the struggles and triumphs that connect us all.

"We choose to make it through hard times by being together," says Bailey, who previously cut her teeth in the throwback soul group Magnolia Sons.

"There will always be struggle. You can sit and bask in it, or you can keep moving forward. For me, the best option is bond together and sing it out. That's what this band does for me. LadyCouch heals me."

Before teaming up with Bailey, Thompson released four albums of psychedelic folk music as the frontman of Allen Thompson Band. Meanwhile, LadyCouch's other members — trombonist Diego Vasquez and the Nashville Horns, Robert Gay and Paul Thacker; recording engineer, co-producer, and bassist Gordon Persha; as well as Grayson Downs, Clint Maine, and Ray Dunham, all veterans from Allen Thompson Band — left their own marks on the city's music scene, creating music that nodded to their influences while still exploring new territory. Together, this family of musicians now make their LadyCouch debut with 2021's Future Looks Fine, a high-spirited album recorded at Todd Snider's rehearsal space and hangout headquarters — the Purple Building — in East Nashville.

"We were planning on using the Purple Building as a place to rehearse and do pre-production," Thompson remembers. "When we arrived, we realized Todd had already outfitted the place to record his own record. JoJo Hermann from Widespread Panic had left his brand new upright piano there, too for his weekly quarantine streams. We recorded a few tracks, assuming they'd be demos, but then we listened to the recording and heard the energy present in the first and second takes, so we just kept going. With Todd's blessing, we made the rest of Future Looks Fine in that room, after Todd finished recording First Agnostic Church of Hope and Wonder with the same engineer, Colin Cargile. Listening back, I think you can hear that connection between both albums. It's obvious we were all in the same place. Not just physically but musically and emotionally as well.”

Co-produced and engineered by Persha, Future Looks Fine finds LadyCouch writing about personal matters — heartbreak, brotherhood, and friendship — as well as the modern world outside, with songs that tackle thorny issues like social struggle and crooked politics. The songs are laced with layered harmonies, entwined electric guitars, and swirling organ, driven forward by melodic hooks as big as the band's lineup. Gluing everything together is LadyCouch's clear appreciation for one another. In a town filled with musicians, they're something rare: a genuine band of brothers and sisters, choosing to rally against the setbacks of today's world by holding each other aloft.

More about East Nash Grass...

Bluegrass music may be one of America’s “traditional” styles, but at its heart it has always been wild and spontaneous. The style demands every ounce of facility and intent that each performer can muster— it fires on all cylinders or none at all. Few bands do it as well as East Nash Grass. An ensemble of standout players from a city known for the quality of its musicians, East Nash Grass came by its name and reputation honestly, honing their performance chops night after night on a tiny stage on Music City’s east side. Even now having played many of the biggest stages in bluegrass, East Nash Grass can still be found every Monday night performing in that same east side bar. Dedication to a group’s roots and a commitment to hard work are earmarks of great Nashville bands of all kinds, and East Nash Grass exemplifies what it means to be a bluegrass band from Nashville.

The band that would become East Nash Grass began to take shape by chance, as a weekly bluegrass night at Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge. The gig leadership changed hands and players came and went over several years, and what started as a loose collection of pickers gradually solidified into a committed group of dedicated bandmates. They quickly became one of the top young bands in bluegrass music, whose members have been highly sought-after as side musicians for the genre’s top stars and hottest bands. Today, whether it’s bluegrass Monday at Dee’s, or the hallowed stage of the Ryman Auditorium, East Nash Grass brings swagger, staggering abilities, and high energy to every performance.

It’s natural to assume that a band born in a bar would be willing to take risks, and in the case of East Nash Grass, you’d be right. Like birds in a flock, each keenly aware of one another’s every move, the pickers in East Nash Grass fly in tight formation, no matter the twists and turns the moment demands. Their incredible skill as an ensemble makes it look easy, and their chemistry makes it fun to watch. Bluegrass music tends to fall on a spectrum. On one end is the rough and tumble, high-energy style exemplified by the pioneers of the genre. On the other is a highly polished studio-ready approach, one in which each note is executed with clinical perfection. It’s not easy to balance such precision while being musically joyful and in the moment, but East Nash Grass does it, staking their position squarely in the middle of this spectrum, executing at the highest levels of proficiency with a sense of ease and humor that only comes from hundreds of hours making music together.

East Nash Grass’s collective resume rings with high profile award wins, nominations, and prominent gigs. Every member is an accomplished professional in their own right, and each would be a featured musician in any band. With James Kee on guitar, Cory Walker on banjo, Harry Clark on mandolin, Gaven Largent on dobro, Maddie Denton on fiddle, and Jeff Picker on bass, East Nash Grass is a band of all-stars, without question. But unlike many all-star bands that come together for one album or concert, this is a band in the true sense. Each member contributes their energy and their creative work to the group. It’s a great advantage for a band to have more than one writer, as original songs are an important commodity for any group, but for each member to be an accomplished writer is very special, and that is just the case among the members of East Nash Grass. In this band, everyone writes; another thing that sets East Nash Grass apart.

East Nash Grass is a band that stands alone as a unit of monster players and performers, top professionals, and committed bandmates. It’s clear that the sky is the limit for this group as they continue their ascent into the highest levels of bluegrass music.

More about Airshow...

Airshow is a high-flying jamband that’s sure to soar to the top of every music fans priority list this year.

Having originally formed in Reading, PA, childhood best friends, Steve Gallagher (guitar/vocals) and Cody Chelius (mandolin/vocals), spread their wings and migrated to Nashville, TN in 2015. There they met Bill Baker (bass/vocals) and John Rodrigue (drums/vocals) and immediately started their ascension towards the top of Nashville’s jamband scene— and they won’t be landing anytime soon.

Flash forward to 2023 and Airshow is poised for liftoff. Having released two studio albums, ‘Shimmer’ (2021) and ‘Up in the Clouds’ (2019), as well as two EPs, ‘Anubis’ (2020) and ‘Lightbulb’ (2017), this fleet has enough studio material to keep your ears occupied for a 747 trip from JFK to O’Hare. After extensively touring the Northeast and Southeast, the band has their navigation set for everywhere in 2023. Keep your eyes peeled for the one and only Airshow in your town soon!

More about Austin...

A lover of all styles of music and a true believer in the healing power of music, Austin Grimm has been playing music professionally for the last decade as the leader of the nationally touring band Roots of a Rebellion (or ROAR) based out of Nashville, TN. Austin was born and raised in Saint Louis, MO but moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University where he majored in Music Business and founded ROAR with his college friends. After graduating in 2012, the band toured the U.S. extensively—playing 120+ shows a year, cultivating a following from coast to coast that is fueled by the uplifting and eclectic music, conscious lyrics and community service projects along the way at urban farms and food banks.

ROAR most recently released a #1 Billboard Reggae Album called “Shapes of a Soul”, had their name added to the infamous Wall of Fame at Exit/In in Nashville, and have performed at Bonnaroo, Hangout Music Festival, Live On The Green, Master Musicians Festival and many first class venues across the country. Now that ROAR is taking some much needed time off from the road, Austin is excited to stretch out and explore some of the many genres of music he enjoys while performing original music as well as some classic covers that could be anything from country, folk, rock, pop, blues, or jazz…and quite possibly some reggae as well.

Growing up on a cattle ranch in East Texas, Bee is no stranger to working for what you want. As a teenager she raised piglets and took them to market to buy her first guitar.

Moving to Nashville soon after, she discovered the music of Django Reinhardt, Howlin’ Wolf, Tom Waits, and Dr. John, among many others.

She fell in love with the New Orleans style of piano playing, and on June 6th, 2019 she took her last $100 to buy her first piano. On the way home, she got a call that her new musical hero, Dr. John, had passed away. She vowed that day to teach to herself how to play in the NOLA style, and has been touring the U.S. with her band doing just that.

If you’re wanting a unique experience of musical and lyrical gumbo, Bee Taylor is the show to see.”

More about JJ...

Being the middle child of a preacher's family in the South, I always felt a little different, a little left out and a little confused as to who I was "supposed" to be.

Turns out I'm a little funny, a little deep and a lot more loved than I knew. That's what I want for people... to know themselves, love themselves and in turn extend that love to others.

Using laughter is the best way I've found to connect us all... no matter how different, we're all awkwardly human just trying to do life.

I'm a comedian and storyteller in many forms... through the written and spoken word, visual art, and video editing-- all intertwined with the realities of life and the humor to get through it.

Life. Art.

More about Amber...

Amber is charismatic, a phenomenal writer, and able to connect with every audience. Amber Autry is the best Comedian to see live in the Nashville area. From Zanies Comedy Club to the intimate, vibrant independent comedy scene, Amber Autry brings energy and talent to every stage.

More about Doug...

Doug Sanders is a standup comedian and writer. He is half-white, half-Asian, and was raised by very nice white people in Ohio. He was groundbreaking as the first Asian Fonzie during Halloween 1995. After escaping Ohio, he lived in Chicago and now lives Houston, Texas, where many nice people confuse him as being Mexican.

He has performed his standup around the country. Doug was on the 2018 Youngstown Comedy Festival and now the 2018 Burbank Comedy Festival.

Doug is also a creative writer. He studied under the short story writer, Lee K. Abbott at Ohio State. Doug's fiction and creative nonfiction has been published in The New Plains Review, Umbrella Factory and The Broadkill Review.

In his personal life, Doug loves standup comedy, late-night TV, interviews, podcasts and finding out what makes people tick. He looks like he works out, but he totally doesn't. Shhh, that's our little secret.

Zack Montgomery is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is the lead vocalist of the southern rock band, Revelry. He grew up on a wide range of music and influences from every genre but his biggest heroes are Gregg Allman, Ronnie Van Zant, and Hank Williams Sr.
