In 1917, Uncle Kelly Driver traveled through the hills of the Upper Cumberland selling fruit and shade trees from door-to-door. He provided an invaluable service to the good folks of Tennessee. In fact, that giant oak tree in Grandma’s yard might have come from Uncle Kelly. Today, you can still find quality trees and plants at Bert Driver Nursery—located three miles west of Smithville at the old DeKalb Drive-In Theater. The James G. “BoBo” Driver Family has fully enjoyed providing service to the local community for over 80 years.

Bert Driver Nursery opened February 1, 1997, and in 2022 we celebrate 25 years of business! The nursery features a full selection of plants and trees that range in size with a focus on larger mature material. We also offer landscape consulting and design. Follow our journey!
