Music City Stones Rolling Stones Tribute

09.10.2022 - It was another memorable evening inside the cozy confines of the Solstice Stage Greenhouse on Saturday, with persistent showers throughout the day making it evident that outside was NOT the place for a Rolling Stones Tribute on this particular day.

With just a hint of fall in the air, there was a homecoming of sorts with Seth Willoughby and Ethan Green returning to Bert Driver’s Burlap Room stage, this time expertly filling the “opener” slot for the headliner Music City Stones. The fire pits were going, and the rain moved along – the perfect setting and ambiance to welcome our Burlappers. We saw lots of new faces, including folks from New Jersey to California, and from Argentina to DC, continuing to add to the mix of Center Hill Lake region - culture that we endeavor to create and refine into what is the local vibration.

Seth, with his spot-on, pitch-perfect vocals and solid acoustic rhythm guitar, and Ethan, adding his very tasteful guitar signature licks and passages that he faithfully reproduces live (not that easy to do), presented a laid-back set with enough of an edge to perfectly tee the audience for Music City Stones authentic rock n’ roll show to follow.

From the opening percussion track with the iconic lyrics – “Allow me to introduce myself”, from Louis Lee and the Music City Stones to the standing ovation at the end, the band ran straight through ALL the big hits, (and a few less-recognized gems), paying honest homage to one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time by presenting their very authentic interpretation of “Mick & the boys’” music, vibe, and live performances.

I was especially pleased to find out rather quickly in conversation with Louis Lee (the lead vocalist of MCS) that he is a BIG Rolling Stones fan himself and is fully aware and shares our awe of the contribution the Stones made to the rock music culture we are all a part of for so long a time period…Good job, Louis and the Music City Stones– “Authentic” ALWAYS wins out!

Patrons that ventured to the outside Redbud Stage watched some great college football, with two screens for viewing and the lounge/club feel of the Burlap Room experience. Also, thank you to DJ Rob for the always-appropriate original playlists/mixes and to our food trucks, Pam’s Place, and Lao Mobile Kitchen for feeding us all Saturday night (YUM!). As awlays, we couldn’t bring you love music without our 2022 Series Sponsors and Vendors: Center Hill Realty & Chalets, Anderson Marine, SnapDragon Hemp, Limestone Title & Escrow, Hurricane Marina (Suntex Corp), and Crooked Creek Designs.
