Finally Fridays at the harvester with Sounds Like Harmony

11.18.2022 - The Harvester Performance & Event Center was all decked out for the third edition of “Finally Fridays” Live Music last night, it’s beginning to look a lot like…“this is NOT Smithville!”

Shameless Commercial Announcement Warning!!!  The Bert Driver Nursery Poinsettia Sale is happening right now, and they are literally “all over the Harvester” - beautiful red, white, and pink in small, medium, and large sizes. Stop by and see them displayed at the Harvester, and deck YOUR halls with some of these beauties! Call 615-597-9560 to order yours today!

Now back to our regularly scheduled program: In keeping with our tradition of supporting our excellent local and regional musicians, artists and performers at the Burlap Room, this week, the Harvester headlined Sounds Like Harmony, a mixture of creme de la creme musician and vocalist artists who came together on Finally Fridays for a delightful performance and a pre-holiday evening for our growing group live music-lovin’ patrons. (No live music concerts during Thanksgiving week, but see big holiday plans below!)

As per usual, the eclectic mix of patrons range from all across the United States. Last night was no exception as we encountered folks from Wisconsin, Florida, Colorado, and New Hampshire, and they now call Smithville and Center Hill Lake Region their permanent, full-time home. This inspires us even more to show off our local talent in a local establishment owned and operated by locals who strive to share the message that downtown Smithville is alive.

I borrowed this info from Bertdriver.com website- From our perspective, Sounds Like Harmony ‘sounds like’ really, really good!

Lorie Judd and Lisa Byrne from Cookeville, TN, both grew up in musical families. They developed a love for music at an early age. This common bond grew their friendship, love for song & harmony, & performing. In 2019, this “Dynamic Duo” formed Sounds Like Harmony! They describe their style as “We choose great songs with great harmonies!”

And the special guests of Sounds Like Harmony, Colton Rhody and John Fox...

Colton Rhody grew up in Smithville, TN, and took an interest in music at a very early age. In 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business from Middle Tennessee State University and began touring as a professional musician. Colton has worked with artists such as Jason Michael Carroll, Dustin Lynch, Bomshel, Madonna Nash, Kristy Lee Cook, Shelby Lee Lowe, Raleigh Keegan, and more. He is currently the musical director and guitarist for country artist Cody Purvis ("Drinkin' Terms"). Colton has been a guitar instructor since 2008 and enjoys sharing his knowledge and passion for music with others. He is currently teaching private guitar lessons in the middle Tennessee area, and he posts guitar content regularly on YouTube and Patreon.

Accompanied by multi-talented Cookeville native John Fox, brother to Lisa Byrne, joins the stage to add his talents of harmonies, bass and guitar. With over 30 years of musical stage experience, and over a decade of working in the Nashville music scene for Sony Music Nashville, John brings knowledge, skills, and a love of music to the group.

YaYa’s Food Truck (Food for the Soul) was conveniently stationed right outside the Harvester’s main entrance…next time you see them around, try the Classic Burger & Fries!

Once again, it’s exciting to see historic downtown Smithville and the restaurants and Shoppes of West Walnut buzzing on a Friday Night – and the Harvester crowd grooving to the great musical arrangements, and the outstanding vocal harmonies of Sounds Like Harmony…I think we got ourselves a winner, folks!

No live music Thanksgiving week, but on December 3, 2022, we celebrate Holidays at the Harvester, with special hours of operation. Doors open at 10am for Poinsettia Sale pickup, bar service starts at 2pm, Falyn steps onto the Flatwoods Stage at 5pm with headliner Jason Lee McKinney Band at 7pm (following Smithville’s Annual Christmas Parade).

We are so very thankful for everyone’s assistance and support in making 2022 a banner year for our endeavors- We look forward to a truly magical Christmas season, and to an even better 2023 - stay tuned!!!
