New Year’s Eve Eve Bowl Game Watch Party

12.30.22 - The Finally Fridays 2022 Winter Series at the Harvester was indeed a “New Year’s Eve Eve” warm-up to the biggest party night of the year. The fact that the UT Vols (favorite team of some folks pretty high up in the Harvester family) was playing in the Orange Bowl for the first time in what seems like a whole bunch of years certainly was one of the predominant factors in adding to the excitement of the evening.

Trey Binkley, one of our “regular” stand-out artist/songwriter/entertainers that we are blessed to be associated with took the assembled “Pre-Partiers” at the Harvester on a musical tour of just about every genre of music there is, blending in everything from  some authentic Jimmy Rogers classics followed by Fire on the Mountain by them Tucker Boys, followed by some “spirit-capturing” Hank selections, finished off with  a few original compositions that certainly were comparable to his renditions of hit cover material.

Trey is also impressive off-stage as when he’s on…he started his formal musical quest at MTSU in the technical end of the art, but soon changed to songwriting and performing when he realized that was “really” what he wanted to do.  Since then, he’s become a staple at the music joints on Broadway in Nashville, working “double shifts” several days a week, and growing his network of music biz contacts that apparently are working really well - Trey wound up playing lead guitar for an opening act in a major Las Vegas showroom earlier in December 2022.

And, at the risk of sounding really corny, there’s something “Hank-ish” about this slender young artist, who’s definitely making it, by simply enjoying the musical journey he’s chosen….We’re enjoying his journey too! The Vols winning the Orange Bowl was a tremendous closure for Trey Binkley’s opening performance - another unique, perfect evening at the Harvester!

With that, The Harv has been open nearly ten months and not unlike the Volunteers, we have had a fun ride and made lots of new friends along the way…thank you for being part of the journey for us to develop and celebrate a reemerging of historic downtown Smithville.  From our first private event on March 11 to the West Walnut Art Walk in September and from Smithville Jamboree VIP in July to our first Art Festival October Skies, The Harvester hosted over twenty-five events, both private and public, in less than ten months during 2022.  Remember us for your own private events and keep your eyes and ears open for more live music forthcoming in 2023!

Tio’s Taco Truck provided on-the-money  party & game time authentic Mexican cuisine for our New Year’s Eve Eve attendees.

The first 2023 Finally Friday’s will feature Jon Wayne Hatfield on Friday, 1/6/2023- we’re also hosting a “tasting” of new products for  our friends from Short Mountain Distillery that evening.
