Finally Fridays at the Harvester Tacky Sweater Dance Party with DJ Rob
12.16.2022 - DJ Rob rolled into town for this week’s edition of Finally Fridays at the Harvester Performance & Event Center in Smithville, TN, immediately hung up a disco ball, moved his DJ board upstairs to the sound booth normally reserved for live performances, and proceeded to rock the house providing the perfect dance party ambiance for folks attending the fourth edition of the Finally Fridays music series - and our first “Ladie’s Night”, which means no cover charge for ladies (BIG hit - watch for more of these in the future!)
DJ Rob (Rob Horne) has been putting together playlists for the Burlap Room’s live concerts for a couple of years now, and has the uncanny ability that some of the greatest musicians possess – being capable of feeling the audiences’ vibe and playing exactly what they want to hear/when they want to hear it. Communication at it’s best!
He certainly had the Finally Fridays attendees bumpin’ along with his solid grooves while watching their fellow revelers arrive - some obviously dressing in the holiday theme of the evening “Tacky Christmas Sweaters”. And one additional note, DJ Rob is very volume-conscious and hits that sweet spot, too, where the music is adequate volume to move you, but you don’t have to shout to talk to your compadre. We are pleased and proud to have DJ Rob as our headliner at Finally Fridays and look forward to his return.
Although all Tacky Sweater contestants had a valid shot at 1st prize, the absolutely non-partisan decision of the anonymous judges awarded top prize to one of our regular lovely lady Burlappers, who not only was wearing what could only be described as an electric light-up tacky Christmas sweater, PLUS…she did an excellent job of “Sellin’ that Sweater” in her presentation. She took home a beautiful white poinsettia as 1st prize for her efforts.
Papa John’s Pizza joined in the Dance Party mode by providing “pizza by the slice” as food vendor for the evening. Better ingredients mean better pizza - so happy to have Papa John’s here in Smithville as our sponsor!
Final chance to hang at the Harvester in 2022 comes up on 12/23/22 for the final Finally Fridays performance, at our Christmas Eve EVE party, featuring Jon Wayne Hatfield, up and coming songwriter from Nashville, TN…oh, what fun!
