Shirley Tubbs
Coming full circle from local, humble beginnings; Shirley, also known to many as Jazzmyn, has been on the local and national music scene for many years. She is an eclectic vocalist who started her musical career in the veins of Funk and R&B; but for many years has come to be known by many as an elegant, standard and smooth jazz artist. She has lent her time and talents to support Nashville Cares, Habitat for Humanity, Community Kids, The Tennessee Women’s Suffrage movement and the National Organization for Women (NOW) … just to name a few.
Tubbs has been a headliner for Olivia Cruises & Resorts, Ohio Women’s Music festival, galas and bands at many local Nashville clubs and festivals. Some of her musical influences include such greats as Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughn, Cleo Laine and Nancy Wilson. Along with acting, song writing and publishing credits, she is currently in session to finish an independent music project titled, “My Story, My Way”; and is close to completion of her first book titled “The Depth of an Ocean”(collective works of a Musipoe).
