Join us as we celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a fun night of bluegrass, Celtic music, drinks, food (including Irish-themed options from Hardwoods Smokehouse Express), and more with The John Boulware Trio at the Harvester!
Happy Hour and food truck start at 4pm. Live music at 6pm. Ages 18 and up.
A large part of the bluegrass sound (and what Bill Monroe called the "ancient tones") comes from traditional Irish music, and some of our current bluegrass instrumental favorites have roots that go back to specific Irish fiddle tunes! While many now see Monroe's music as "traditional," in his time he was a pioneer, blending country and blues with old-time and Celtic sounds, and we further embrace that spirit of combination and evolution.
Did most "traditional" bluegrass have drums? No. Will that stop us? Also no. Sharon's infectious rhythm and dynamics, Josh's lead vocals and versatility, along with John's instrumental prowess make for a varied and exciting night of music and celebration.
From old-time fiddle and mandolin tunes, to the singer/songwriter acoustic sounds of Tony Rice, all the way to blending in some electric guitar tones for a fun evening of eclectic music, the trio will be playing and singing a mixed bag of traditional Chattanooga bluegrass, ancient Irish and Celtic fiddle selections, and we'll even throw in our take on some pop favorites from the 90's, so bring your sing-along voice!
Come out and celebrate with us, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
