2025 DCHS Soccer Banquet

05.22.2025 - On a beautiful spring evening in Historic Downtown Smithville, the Harvester Event Center was filled with pride and joy as the DeKalb County soccer program celebrated its year-end banquet. The atmosphere was vibrant, reflecting the euphoria of closing a successful season, and both the players and their families were honored for their contributions to this remarkable program.

As the sun set, families gathered to recognize the hard work and dedication of the athletes and coaches. Each member of the team not only showcased individual talent but also embodied the spirit of unity and support that defines our soccer program. The event celebrated the players, their families, and the entire DeKalb County community, reminding us how intertwined our lives are through sports.

Coach K. (Dylan Kleparek) delivered an inspiring message that captured the essence of the season's highs and lows. He highlighted the tenacity and fortitude required not just on the field but in life itself. The lessons learned through teamwork and perseverance were echoed throughout the night, reminding everyone present of the greater journey we all share.

Parents bonded over shared experiences and memories, transformed into a tight-knit family through the beautiful game. The evening featured delightful catering, wonderful music, and a stylish ambiance, leading to memorable photo opportunities with teammates.

Superlatives were awarded to players on both the men’s and women’s teams, celebrating achievements and personal growth, while the coach reflected on each player's unique contributions and the movement  of an entire season.

As I looked around the room, filled with smiles and laughter, I was reminded of the journey that has led us to this point—a journey marked by enduring support, fundraising efforts, and the dedication to building strong programs in our schools. The pride in our DeKalb County soccer program is growing, and it is clear that it is here to stay.

With graduation celebrations and the high school softball team heading for the state championship, the sense of excitement in our community is unmistakable. The legacy of hard work, resilience, and pride in our children—and in our town—shone brightly during the banquet, capturing the very essence of what it means to be part of the DeKalb County High School family.

As we reflect on this wonderful night at the Harvester, we are grateful for the connections we've made and the strength of our community. Together, we celebrate the DeKalb County High School Tigers and Lady Tigers soccer programs—proof that with passion and teamwork, we can achieve incredible things.
