Patrick Sweaney The Tiger Beats

Come celebrate the beginning of spring with live music from East Nashville's The Tiger Beats! This is an outdoor event taking place in the open-air greenhouse on the Solstice Stage.

The Tiger Beats

The Tiger Beats are a group of Nashville artists with a common passion and respect of the “The Great Era” of Blues and early R&B. Founded by singer and guitarist Patrick Sweany in 2010, but fully realized in 2018 by the arrival of drummer Jason Smay, (J.D. McPherson, Los Straitjackets, Jimmie Vaughan) bassist Ted Pecchio, (Col. Bruce Hampton, Doyle Bramhall, Susan Tedeschi, Jimmy Hall) and the dynamite, youngblood guitarist and singer McKinley James. This lineup, routinely joined by highly in demand organist Ray Jacildo refined their sound at their popular Blue Monday residencies in Nashville, into a unique force in the Music City landscape. Their adherence to the dynamic energy, groove, and sound of classic Blues and R&B, while leaving any post-rock pretense or histrionics behind, makes them a singular and powerful live music experience.

The band showcases the elemental Delta to Chicago sounds of Muddy Waters, Elmore James, and Howlin’ Wolf, the stinging West Side guitar attack of Magic Sam and Otis Rush, swinging R&B of Bobby Blue Bland and Little Junior Parker, with a little Fats Domino and Swamp Pop for good measure. The Tiger Beats are a powerhouse of old school, soul pleasing sounds, for the here and now.

There is plenty of space to socially distance while enjoying food from local food trucks along with craft beer and local vendors. Feel free to bring your own chair. Please wear a mask while standing in vendor and restroom lines. This is a kid and pet friendly event. Kids 10 and under are free. Gates open at 4PM and live music starts at 6PM. Event is rain or shine.

Admission is $20 advance, $25 day of. Get your tickets online at eventbrite.com.
