GreenWay Music Fest Pre-Party with Pocket Knife String Band and Steady Rotation

08.12.2022 - Although it was a beautiful ending to a gorgeous Friday, it was not just another lovely evening in sleepy lil’ ole Smithville, TN…it was the Pre-Party to our friends at Short Mountain Distillery and their annual GreenWay Music Fest, scheduled for September 1-4 this year (Labor Day weekend), and thanks to SMD and their production company, we were fortunate to have two of the eighty-five (85!!) bands scheduled to play during the event at the Harvester Center on Friday night. Kudos to them for assembling such a great lineup of live music artists and bands - Bert Driver’s Burlap Room and Harvester Performance and Event Center are proud to be part of the build-up to the GWMF - so we’ll see y’all here at the mountain!

Opening act was an excellent jam rock band, Steady Rotation. These talented musicians are from down in the Manchester, TN area, and are slated to play at Greenway Music Fest this year along with Friday’s Headliner, Pocket Knife String Band, who layed down a “rocking” set of bluegrass, (but really different) acoustic music that highlighted each individual’s talent and their collective coherence as a group.

I guarantee, BOTH these talented young groups will be received very well at the GWMF - in fact, one lucky attendee to the Harvester’s Pre-Party won a free ticket to all three days of music (and we’re giving another away at Hemp Fest IV next Saturday, 8/20)! A special “Thank You” to Tio’s Taco Truck for providing what is consistently some of the best authentic Mexican food around these parts to the Pre-Party Attendees!

Lest you forget, we are nursery crop growers that have a live music addiction; thus, Bert Driver Nursery will be participating in the GreenWay Music Fest as a Nursery. We support the development of the GreenWay, and you can, too, by stopping by our booth and register to purchase a tree to be planted on the Short Mountain Distillery GreenWay!

Lots of fun planned between now and Labor Day - up next at the Burlap Room is Middle of Somewhere Hemp Fest IV with Magnolia Boulevard and opener Sam Lewis, which happens on Saturday, August 20 (where all the movers and shakers in the hemp/CBD industry in our expanded region will be exhibiting their wares and sharing their expertise about the changes taking place in this exciting industry), then Comedy Night at the Harvester with Headliner Caleb Elliott, Opener Marie Cecile Anderson, and Host Amber Autry, on Thursday, August 25, and closing out August is Michelle Poe, (Hank Jr.’s bass player), Ken Taylor, and Russ Freeman at the Harvester on Saturday, August 27! Stay up-to-date with all the events in the Bert Driver Network (Nursery, Burlap Room, and the newly-opened Harvester Event Center) by signing up for our Burlapper Newsletter. All tickets for all Burlap Room and Harvester Event Center can be purchased at burlaproom.eventbrite.com. See y’all soon!
