Historic Downtown Smithville Hosts First Wedding and Event Planners Reception
02.08.2025 - One thing’s for sure - “Love is in the Air” was an appropriate musical background as The Harvester Event Center in Smithville, Tennessee, continued their ground-breaking events by assembling the “Best of the Best” local and regional special event vendors. Bert Driver also invited all area wedding and event planners or coordinators to attend, with the primary intent of encouraging promotion of what our area has to offer to folks who are planning a wedding, business event, or just wants to “throw a big ole party”! For those of you who have been following the trajectory of the Harvester Event Center in it’s first two years of operation, you’re already aware of the commitment we have to bring high-quality live music and cultural experiences that heretofore have just not been available, unless you want to drive to another city and this event reveals a top notch building in the heart of Historic Downtown Smithville. The first ever Bridal Show/Wedding Event Planners Reception was a success from the aspect of introducing vendors, planners, potential clients to each other and providing opportunities and promotional benefits for all involved. Events like these are still in the growth phase of discovering how to get the word out that Smithville, TN is indeed a “destination”.
We are confident that we are headed in that direction, especially when we are able to come together to create innovative events–that will eventually benefit all involved. Vendor participants in the Bridal Show & Wedding Event Planners Reception were:

The Harvester, a stunning mid-century modern venue, was beautifully decorated with pastel florals and lush greenery provided by our in-house florist, Angela Pedigo of Lotus Pod, creating an inviting atmosphere for attendees. Bert Driver Nursery contributed additional greenery, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the space. Guests enjoyed live music from Marguerite Beane, a classically trained jazz guitarist and vocalist, whose performances added a delightful ambiance to the afternoon, and her trombonist friend, David Cooper.
The event attracted many community members and visitors from surrounding areas, who indulged in fantastic catering and refreshing craft cocktails and beers, keeping spirits high throughout the day. The weather was perfect, complementing the vibrant atmosphere of the venue.
In addition to showcasing its main event space, The Harvester opened the Casablanca building, which features a dedicated Get-Ready Suite and Green Room for clients. Attendees had the opportunity to meet local tenants, including Kyle and Company, Alchemy Salon, and House of Homage, all of which contribute to the comprehensive services available within the community. The Casablanca building also boasts a full-service private bar and a luxurious preparation space, included in The Harvester’s wedding package.
This successful open house demonstrated Smithville's potential as a destination wedding locale, conveniently located near Center Hill Lake, offering ample lodging, transportation, and all necessary services for a perfect event. Here’s our heartfelt thank yous to our guest musical artist Marguerite Beane and David Cooper, who provided the perfect romantic musical backdrop, as well as all participating vendors, planners, Harvester staff, and potential clients for attending and being a part of our first ever Wedding and Event Planners Reception.
