Comedy Night with Rene Vaca, Fiona Cauley, & Amber Autry

01.26.2023 - Sometimes, being the first to try something new is a real gamble, especially in 2023 terms. I.e., US:  We want to do a Comedy Night in Smithville, TN, on a Thursday Night at the Harvester Center, OK? The Universe: “Hahaha”.

So, for that very reason, it was exciting to watch attendees file in early to fill the seats at the Harvester Performance and Event Center on Thursday for the 4th edition of Comedy Night with our returning fave Host,  Amber Autry (Zanies regular, PeacockTV), with another duo of her brilliant funny friends in tow - Fiona Cauley (Feature on Dusty Slay's Grand Ole Comedy Show), and Headliner:  Rene Vaca (Winner of StandUp NBC competition, California based).

Please check out the links above to find out more about each of our Comedy Night performers - ALL THREE of these professional entertainers were very funny, and as I watched the Harvester patrons enjoying themselves, laughing, interacting and responding to our guest comedians, I had the realization that that comedy is probably one of the oldest and most organic forms of entertainment and has as much, if not more mojo, as music to bring our spirits together in a joyful place.

For example, one of the troupe, Rene Vaca, is totally new to our wonderful part of the world. Rene, straight from Los Angeles, CA, told me he “has been to Tennessee two days in his entire life – yesterday and today, and he’s already learned to say Hail Far!”.  (Personally, I think Rene is actually an Indian trying to pass as a Mexican –  If you were at Comedy Night at the Harvester on Thursday, you’re laughing right now). VERY funny, in-your-face stuff - and although we’re from vastly different backgrounds and cultures, I love this guy and his fresh perspectives…and I could tell, he loved performing at the Harvester.

We can’t wait till the next Comedy Night, coming up on Thursday, March 2, 2023 - we’re predicting standing room only for Comedy Nights very soon, so you might want to get your tickets in advance (full line-up coming soon)!

Thanks to Amber Autry continuing to bring us Top-Notch Comedy Talent, and thanks to our loyal supporters and prestigious clientele for supporting something new and different in our area - we absolutely LOVE the fact that the Harvester Comedy Night attendees are loosening up a bit, getting used to the new (for this area) “Comedy Night” experience, and not being intimidated or embarrassed to jump in and get involved - you coulda heard a pin drop during the entire live performance on Thursday night, except when we were laughing, whooping, hollering, or clapping for some very clever and funny “real deal” comedians on our stage.  What better way to spend an evening?!  Sitting at home watching murder porn or the news? I think not.

Dare I say it? “The world’s a better place because of Comedy Nights at the Harvester”!

Thanks to all for a truly fun Thursday night right here in Historic Downtown Smithville, Tennessee, including Amber Autry, Fiona Cauley, and Rene Vaca (really think you’re Indian, dude…Hail Far!), the Harvester Management/Staff/Security, Tio’s Taco Truck (ALWAYS the best Mexican Food), and most of all, you Comedy Night Fans!
